- Small / desk & shelf scale (around 12x24 to 16x24 inch): Great above a desk, nightstand, or as part of a gallery wall grouping with other pieces.

About this painting
This Adoration of the Magi, dated to around 1478-1482 and now in the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., depicts the three kings and their retinue paying homage to the infant Christ amid ruined classical architecture, a setting Botticelli used to signal the passing of the pagan world before Christianity. The panel passed through Russia's Imperial Hermitage collection before the industrialist Andrew W. Mellon acquired it around 1931 and later gave it to found the National Gallery of Art. Some scholars believe Botticelli's workshop, possibly including Filippino Lippi, assisted in its execution, one of at least seven variations on the Adoration theme Botticelli produced over his career.
