- Small / desk & shelf scale (around 12x24 to 16x24 inch): Great above a desk, nightstand, or as part of a gallery wall grouping with other pieces.

As a rule of thumb, wall art should span roughly two-thirds the width of the furniture it hangs above (for example, over a 6 ft sofa, look for a piece 4-5 ft wide, or a grouped arrangement that adds up to that width).

About this painting
Reminiscence of Brabant is an oil painting on canvas mounted on panel that Van Gogh made in March-April 1890 at the Saint-Paul asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, recalling the landscape of his native North Brabant region in the Netherlands. He mentioned the painting in a letter to his brother Theo dated 28 April 1890. It is held today by the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, having passed down through the artist's family before being transferred to the Vincent van Gogh Foundation and later to the Dutch state.
