About this painting
Painted in 1873, The Artist's House at Argenteuil depicts Monet's residence in the Paris suburb of Argenteuil, where he lived from 1871 to 1878 during one of his most productive periods. The oil-on-canvas painting, measuring 60.2 x 73.3 cm, is held in the Art Institute of Chicago as part of the Mr. and Mrs. Martin A. Ryerson Collection.
