About this painting
"Field with Poppies" is the title of at least two genuine oil-on-canvas paintings by Van Gogh, and available sources do not establish which specific version this listing reproduces. One, catalogued as F581/JH1751, was painted in early June 1889 in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and is held by the Kunsthalle Bremen. The other, catalogued as F636/JH2027, was painted in June 1890 in Auvers-sur-Oise and is held by the Kunstmuseum Den Haag (on loan from the Dutch state). Because the two works share this title, the exact date and collection for this reproduction could not be confirmed.
